094, Overnight Bivvi with David Foster on Leith Hill, Jan 29-30 2005

29-30 January 2005, Dave Foster. Overnight walk/bivvi. Met Dave in Coldharbour. Strange pub, refused Dave
tap-water! Knocked up a house, guy cleaning teeth gave us water. Drove up to the cricket ground, parked.
Bivvied in the open, overlooking Vale with Gatwick in the distance. Woken by a hooting owl (or Dave's
snoring?!). A little cold. Got up after 8, woodpecker. Dull day but dry. Breakfast under the Pavilion
awning! Sausages, eggs, tomato, coffee! Circular route over Leith Hill, along Greensand Way to Holmbury
St. Mary. Returned via Friday Street, lunch on the path, got lost near Coldharbour Common! 4pm finish.
Pleasant woodland walking, some excellent mountain bike trails, too.
