S25, Champagny-en-Vanoise, La Plagne, French Alps, 31 Jan - 4 Feb 2014

Back to the superb apartment in Champagny-en-Vanoise, a quiet out-lying village but with good access to the vast La Plagne range. A longer drive than some resorts, but worth the effort. Mixed weather, sun, clouds, snow, white-out! Not too cold, even warm, sometimes. We managed to ski all over this time, despite one white-out day. The glacier was fun to get to and affords wonderful views, but there's not a lot of skiing up there, unless you're into unpisted blacks. Our favourite spot, again, was over towards Les Coches and Montchavin. We only visited one restaurant, La Poya (changed from l'Empreinte, last year) as we like it so much; good food, quiet and pleasant ambience, friendly staff.
