S23, Carona, Italian Alps, 18-22 Feb 2013

Another enjoyable week at Albergo Ristorante Carona. Excellent weather & piste conditions until the snow started early Thursday morning! Low cloud and frequent zero visibility somewhat off-set the wonderful, fresh snowfall, but didn't deter keen skiers, transforming familiar slopes. Less speed, more technique! Somewhat busier this year; the Carona Chair became overloaded, I suspect, and was practically stationary for 2 hours until it was wound back to unload those unfortunately left on (some having jumped off). It didn't help that the Carona Travelator suffered problems, too. However, skiing without limitations with Tess & Katie was a pleasure. The highlight of the week was undoubtedly spending an hour skiing the Carona Cappelletta Black with Tess. The top run was in cloud until we skied out of it at the steep section to find fresh, untouched snow, almost knee deep, with only an occasional skier for company. We looked up, we looked down, we said "Remember this moment for the rest of your life".
